Last Friday Joel and I set out for a nice little adventure. We were destined to Williamsburg, Virginia for a small get away. Although our experiences did not exactly turn out as we expected them to. We ended up leaving a day earlier and headed north to Union, New Jersey to see our niece and Joel's sister and "BIL". So up through Maryland, Past D.C., into Delaware, then onto the NJ Pike we headed. We met up with our family and headed out to dinner that night. It was a great to see them and I did not realize how much I missed seeing them until it was time to leave the next evening. That part later.
Joel and I headed out to NYC the next morning and went into times square on the bus, New Jersey Transit Authority style. It was actually the best way to get into the city becuase it was direct and the Port Authority was right there by Times Square. So we walked around a little bit and played in the Toys R Us store found a few small things for the boys and just headed back to his sisters house early afternoon. We then decided that there was an IKEA only a few miles away so we spent the rest of our afternoon there "looking" around. We ended up leaving the store spending less than $75 and that was awesome for me! Joel just can't wait to put everything up for me now!! HA HA!
Then it was time to say goodbye and we took them out to a really nice Mexican restaurant I liked it because it was a fresh style of cooking to Mexican. Ash was a doll the entire time and I can not wait until I see them again around Christmas time! I really do miss seeing them!
Joel and I headed back home after dinner around 9pm and drove straight home getting in at about 6am. I fell asleep but he said it was a good thing since it was so slick outside and there were so many accidents that I would have been a nervous wreck for him. We spent the morning sleeping until 10 and headed out to do some errands. We had to hit the hobby store to get our Christmas big present together for the kids. We are putting in a train that goes around their room! I can't wait to see their faces! They are getting it a bit early because we just are anxious people but it will be a great surprise for them! (and us)
My parents are heading in on Saturday and staying through black Friday morning. I am in the midst of debating if I want to hit some of the sales this year but I think I will debate a bit longer on this because some of the pre ads I have seen do not look so spectacular.
OH! and the other states we hit were West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Overall we had a great trip and we were able to get to know each other all over again so it was good for our relationship as well.
